Week #64 - Esperanza
Hello everyone!!
Well, we are in the last week of the transfer, and my companion is heading home next Monday!! SO CRAZY.
This week, we had a lot of success and worked really hard. We each had 10 pass-along cards ready to go before leaving the house every day, and couldn´t come back in until we got rid of the all! It´s helped us push one another and hold ourselves accountable. It´s taught us discipline, and helped us be more organized and divide the work. Members have come out of nowhere it seems to help us. I know the Lord is rewarding ALL the missionaries for striving to visit 2 or 3 members daily. We have received references from elders or sister members from other wards who want to go out with sister missionaries, and we are excited to work with them.
Juliana Cotrina Rojas has a baptismal date for this Saturday. She has gone through many difficulties with her husband who is in the process of deep repentance with the Law of Chastity... But Juliana has faithfully been reading her Book of Mormon, and going to church and praying and has seen the fruits of her faith! Her husband came home surprisingly this past weekend with tears and hugged her asking for forgiveness, and felt bad for all he had done. She was so surprised but knew that the promises were being fulfilled for reading her Book of Mormon, and it made us so happy!!!
We had zone conference on Thursday, and had to attend the other zone conference on Friday to give our presentation and discussion about how to successfully invite members to pray for missionary opportunities, help them teach in lessons and use the phrase Ï am a witness of (whatever principle or commandment because I have lived (whatever experience)...¨ It went well and the missionaries were able to have a lot of new ideas. Lots of work and stress preparing sometimes, but with the help of the Spirit, the Lord makes up for what we lack!
Not a lot else to say, but We are excited to keep working! I´m going to have more than half a year in Esperanza which is a LTO of time, but I love this area and know the Lord doesn’t need me anywhere else.
I love you all, and hope you are praying for missionary opportunities daily! I promise the Lord will put the people in your path wo are looking for the truth who can be blessed by YOUR experiences and testimonies. Have a great week!
