Week #59 - Esperanza
Buena tarde, todos!!
We were able to put a lot of things into practice that we wanted to this week! We decided to visit a member couple before they accompanied us in an appointment with Felix to give them an idea of what we would teach and how they could participate. We gave a quick a summary of who Felix was, explaining that he lost his wife not long ago and stopped drinking as of a month ago. We then asked them, ¨How would you feel if you were him? ¨ It made them put themselves in the investigator´s shoes and it made them ponder about how lonely and lost he must feel. We then asked what they would like to hear or feel if they were him. It helped them build love and concern for Felix without even knowing him, and they wanted to truly help him. They practiced sharing their testimonies with us that they thought would help Felix feel God´s love. And the appointment went great!! The members LOVE to talk here in PerĂº... so we got to always work on helping them cut down their thoughts and not take up a bunch of time. I want to use this more not only with the members, but also with the sisters so I can put myself in their shoes, and sincerely know how to help them with the guidance of the spirit.
It really hit me that everything I do and say should only build the faith of the sisters. We have a huge role to fill, and I pray every day that the Lord´s grace will be sufficient for us to accomplish this!! Not a lot happened this week, but I am starting my 4th transfer here in Esperanza!! I LOVE my area and the members sooo much. I have seen so many miracles here. So many people whose hearts have been so prepared to receive the gospel Hector, Freddy, Oscar, Fernando, Sebastian, Nicol, Christopher and Raul were just a few of these. I know there are even more! Right now, Felix has a baptismal date for Dec. 22nd, and a family that moved to our area that listened to the discussions in another area has a baptismal date for the 29th!! We are SOO excited for them! Keep them in your prayers so that they can stay strong against the temptations that will come to them during these next few weeks.
I will be here one transfer more with Sister Eli, then she heads home! Then I´ll have to stay here at least another transfer. But I have this transfer and two more to go. the time if FLYING. I can´t even believe how fast it has been going.
I love you all so much, and hope you´re enjoying the chilly weather while I´m out here sweating every day!! Haha:)
