Week #46 - Esperanza

This week went so great!! We are kept so busy with having two exchanges every week, and it has been a little stressful organizing our time with everything, but it has been a super good experience that has pushed me to be obedient in ALL things, be punctual and have trust in the Spirit. Not to mention, I have gotten to know so many wonderful missionaries and have helped them make goals and plans to see even more miracles on their missions.

Freddie is going to get baptized this week!! We are so beyond excited for him and he has made a ton of friends in the ward in less than a month. He said he`ll be meeting up with the priesthood quorum to play football this Wednesday! He has read up to chapter 5 in 2 Nephi and doesn’t plan on stopping. President and Sister Marble wanted to accompany us to an appointment this week and came to visit Freddie. We taught the law of chastity and the word of wisdom and it went so well. Freddie is so determined to leave behind alcohol and start over. He even asked us at the end what else he needed to avoid or what other changes he could make in his life to get ready to be baptized. He has truly humbled me in my own life to be ready, willing and HAPPY to keep the commandments. A picture at the end of the appointment with Pres. Marble is attached below! Ariana got permission from her mom to be baptized and went to the temple with the ward and had a wonderful experience this past Saturday. Her cousin Nicol has been going through some trials, but we are hoping and praying that they will both be baptized on the 15th of September.

We had Leadership Counsel with all the zone leaders, the assistants and the sister leaders, and it was very interesting. It`s been so great to participate and help our missionaries push themselves and see miracles on the mission, with the high goals we set.

Would you be willing to throw away your phone or your social media life for the Book of Mormon? I was thinking about this question this past week. I think before the mission, I would not have sincerely been able to say yes. But as my love, knowledge, and appreciation for the Book of Mormon has grown, I can truly say that yes, I would be willing. If you still are unsure how willing you would be, I would invite you to start reading and STUDYING the Book of Mormon now, more than you were before. Look for answers, put yourself in the shoes of those who wrote their stories, and I promise you that your commitment to and love for the Book of Mormon will increase. You will understand what a treasure it is and that it was divinely written and prepared for us in these times.

I hope you all have a wonderful week, and that you find something special in your studies of the Book of Mormon that help you to come unto Christ!

Love you all!

Hermana Doney
