Week #44 - Esperanza
This week went by sooo fast... With two exchanges a week I´m not ready for the mission to just fly by even faster!
We went to the temple today and it was so amazing and peaceful. We had interviews with the President this week, and he asked me how everything was going and how I felt as a Sister leader. He told me I had a very big responsibility being in charge of 20 missionaries, which is more than his assistants-- haha thanks President. Going to the temple helped me reflect on what things I needed to be changing and bettering to become the missionary my Heavenly Father expects me to become. We have to be a light, and an example in everything we do as leaders. During my mission, I asked each of my companions what characteristics they thought were most important in a leader, and what things a good leader, in their eyes, needs to have. I was looking at my list this past week, and this is what they´ve said: LOVE, security, someone who is an example in ALL things, and someone who recognizes and accepts their faults and sincerely repents. During our exchanges this week with Sister Johnson and Sister Hilton, I couldn’t believe that I was talking with missionaries who were just starting their missions and that THEY were asking ME for advice. I still feel like I only have 3 months out here, but I´ve got 10 months now! It helped me remember how I felt right when I got out in the field, and my love for them grew so quickly. It made me recognize how far I´ve come and how much my Heavenly Father has helped me grow and push myself. I also learned that my English is absolutely horrid and I´m very concerned for when I got to head back to school haha...
We are SOO excited for Freddie, because He has such a sincere desire to make changes, and is so WILLING to make these changes after seeing his friends transform into different people because of God. He asked us why we knocked on his door, and we explained to him that we felt the Spirit guide us to him and that there are no coincidences on our mission. He was so intrigued and truly felt that it was a sign from God that we came to him. I love when people ask us what brought us to their door.... He also brought his Book of Mormon on his trip to see his 9 year old daughter in Trujillo, and has been sending pics of him reading with his daughter to a member that accompanied us on a visit with him this week. Miracles!
We had an open chapel activity this past week, and 90 visitors came!! We have set a ton of appointments with people who are very interested. I´m sooo excited and KNOW we´ll keep seeing miracles with these people!
Love you all so so much, and I can feel your prayers. Have a great week!
